STANDARDS SETTING
The MSPO Standards have been developed by two committees facilitated by the Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB) as the Standards Writing Organisation (SWO). Both committees are made up of representatives from various palm oil interest groups.
The Technical Working Committee for MSPO is responsible for drafting oil palm certification standards which are submitted to the National Committee for MSPO for finalisation and approval.
The finalised standards are further vetted by the Technical Committee on Fats and Oils under the authority of the Industry Standards Committee on Food, Food Products and Food Safety, before being submitted to SIRIM Berhad for public comments.
The standards are finally submitted to Department of Standards Malaysia to be adopted as Malaysian Standards (MS).
